Business development manager
KEY OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION: To establish and articulate innovations and growth opportunities for customers and the company
JOB FUNCTIONS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:
-Proactively identifies new markets and customers
-Builds customer relationships & develop them further.
-Manages existing clients and communicate / resolve where possible any necessary action items for relationship management
-Educates customers on the benefits of Pipeline Integrity
-Submits the daily, weekly and monthly reports to territory director and the assistant sales manager
-Identifies, qualifies, pursues and captures of all sales opportunities with the objective of maximizing sales
-Proposes a detailed Territories sales plans
-Advises & approves in contract concluding/signing
-Advises on commercial contract pricing
-Assists technical sales engineers in obtaining necessary information from the Client and assisting in smooth contract transfer to Operations
-Acts at all times in the best interests of the Company and to be aware and sensitive to opportunities and market developments that could be profitably exploited
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE SHOULD HAVE THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
-University Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience/exposure with sound commercial skills
-A minimum of 5 years sales experience with a progressive and successful career to-date, culminating in a Senior Sales or Business Development role
-Successful sales experience with high value, high price system sales to senior operator executives
-Existing executive-level contacts at one or more target operators
-Experience within the Oil and Gas sector [preferably downstream] would be an asset
-Ability to work independently
-Willingness to travel
-Further qualifications or extended course experience in international Marketing, Sales management or commercial activity
-Communication and presentation skills of a high order with the ability to vary the pace and style to suit audiences from operational staff up to senior managers.
-A confidence born of competence together with the ability to operate responsibly.
-Computer skills in Microsoft word, excel and outlook at an intermediate level.
-Solid Time-management and Organizing skills
-Strong negotiation skills
